Traveling through small towns between College Station and Waco, great little spot to stop and fill your belly for the continued drive. Staff friendly and funny. Clean and food was great. This Texas Man says thumbs up.
Food was great and our waitress Nicole was awesome. Service was slow but we had a large crowd and there was only 1 cook. I must say, she did a really good job inspite of working alone preparing our food!!! We will definitely be back again. Make sure you pack on your patience.
We left Penny's Diner stuffed and happy! We went there for breakfast and it was low-key, just the way we like it. It was our first visit there and I'd love to go again if I'm in the area. I ordered the omelette plate with wheat toast and it was delicious. The toast was already buttered just the way I like it and the coffee was delicious. We tried the cinnamon roll and it was good. I would have preferred less glaze but it was still good and you really can't beat homemade. They tasted like the Little Debbie Spinwheels:) We had to wait a bit for our food but it was worth the wait. The restaurant looked clean and roomy. I didn't feel crowded or rushed at all.
I give 5 stars because not only was the food amazing, but the walls were covered in so much cute nostalgia! My husband and I had a small weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday and our wedding anniversary. I wanted to stop and eat at a place we couldn’t in DFW and we decided to stop here based on the aesthetic. First, the food was sooo good! Yes, you can get this type of food anywhere, but it isn’t always cooked correctly! The hash browns were crispy but soft, and the toast perfectly toasted. The coffee was the ideal “diner coffee”. My husband had a simple sandwich and fries and even that was delicious! Shout out to Nicole. She was welcoming and once she’s comfortable with you, she is warm and funny! Great experience and we will be back when we make our way down south again. Long review but I hope someone discovers this yummy place because of it!
Absolutely worth the walk from Love’s Truck Stop! The food here is top-notch — I had the triple burger, and it was cooked to perfection with great flavor and balance. The presentation was impressive, and you can tell the cook knows what they’re doing. If you’re in the area, this place is hands-down better than the other restaurants nearby. My husband and I love trying new and different places. This spot has been on our bucket list for a while now. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a welcoming smile and information on the menu. Drinks were at our table quick. Then food to follow. Food and service was great. Cute and nostalgic, just what we were hoping for.
Our server was so sweet and accommodating. My son has very particular allergies and they managed to adjust my order so my son could eat off my plate without issue. The people are so sweet and genuine. The food is also just delicious!
What a find! My wife, daughter, granddaughter, and I met here for lunch because it's about halfway between our homes. I was a little confused at first because the menu was written on various marker boards around the place. There was also a QR code at our table that gave me an online menu. It only took me a few minutes to realize I wanted breakfast items for lunch. The food was delicious, service was good, prices were good, and the place appeared to be very clean. I'll be back.
